Hi Di Hi people,
OK well, after……. 22.46 Years or 683.08 Months or 157.63 Weeks or 8197 Days or 196,728 hours or 11,803,680.00 Minutes Ooooooor……… 708,220,800.00 Seconds after passing my test…………….I BOUGHT MY FIRST BIKE! And your challenge for today is, what date did I pass my test! LOL! A little clue, The V5 says date acquired 12/05/08 (Just realised you’d all be most likely working it out from the date of this post!). Sorry about that, Just had to work it for myself why the hell it’s taken me so long then I realised……..Oh yes! I know! I’ve had 3 mortgages, 2 children, another wedding, aquiring another child in the process, numerous cats and dogs, “essential” foreign holidays!, a great idea for a business that’s eaten up the last 12 years of my life and the most part of my bank balance until just a few months ago. So here I am! 41 years old and never having ridden anything bigger than my trusty old Fizzy! At the ripe old age of 16. Now, 1 refresher course and £70 lighter, 1 Bike safe course and £50 lighter, (Rick Parish at Dorking Station you are a Demon God!) and £2,100’s worth of 650s K3, £200’s worth of Heli bars £250’s worth of OEM lower fairings and a New Lid and Bingo! Can I be in your gang? OK, enough of the introductions, I’ve been taking a real hard look around the bike and I’ve noticed that the undertail has already been swapped out but can’t for the life of me work out which one it is. The reason I ask is that as a result of this being fitted, someone has already made alterations to the stock back end (centre fairing between the rear light assembly). The item currently fitted seems to extend right up to the battery box but the 2 “lugs” at that end don’t seem to locate very neatly. As such, I was thinking about changing it again but I’m struggling to find out what the stock fairing looked like between the rear lights. It looks very much as though whoever fitted it has just cut a straight line right at the point below the “Suzuki” decal between the left and right rear light strips. From what I can see, the stock back end centre section looks to be a one piece affair (from other photos I’ve seen). So wonder if getting any other undertray would suddenly leave me with a gaping great space somewhere I don’t want one! Unless of course, I can replace the centre section for a standard one and then fit the undertray of choice! All a bit long winded and weird me thinks but just not sure how to approach it. Really like to get a half decent tail tidy incorporated as well in an attempt to get shot of the nasty nasty homemade looking one! Images as follows. (sorry if they are not very clear but a bit difficult to get a good angle to show the problems.) In anticipation Deano |
