Default Nice rides in Scotland?

Soooo...since the weather is looking nice for this Sunday I might be going a little bike ride with hubby but we're not sure where to go... We live in Fife. Don't want to go tooooo far afield but it would be nice to travel some roads we don't do every day.

Has anyone got any ideas of where's good for a ride? A mixture of nice flowing roads plus some fun corners (for me to practice) would be good

Hi Laura,

There's a whole sub section of people who are experts in this field - SV Ecosse! Pop in there and say hello and ask your question again.

Alas I am a Weegie and ignorant of the ways of the East but there might be some answers in these threads:

Best Roads and Runs

Biking Roads in Scotland

See you soon

I've never actually tried the tablet ice cream lol! I quite like the Irn Bru sorbet...it's just missing the fizz!

I'm thinking maybe the coastal route would be nice (I don't really want to stop off in St Andrews cause I work there) or maybe the road to Crieff like someone mentioned in one of the other threads.

Only dilemma now is missing the F1...

I like the fife coast road... I just do it from the bridge to St Andrews usually. I randomly strung together a series of excellent back-roads from St Andrews to Largo once, but to be honest I could never find it again... Went past the Secret Bunker, I remember that.

You didn't really say what your idea of a long ride is, if it was me I'd be going to Kinlochleven and back but that might count as a long way.

Crieff - Blairgowrie - Perth - Home, not overly long and good roads and if you want more Fife riders I can point you in the right direction

It depends how far you want to go but from Muchty!! head towards Glenrothes on A92 then go towards Leven. From Leven head towards Anstruther (good fish and chips) then down towards St Andrews. Head past Leuchars towards Dundee then at Forgan roundabout take A92 back towards Glenrothes and turn off for Muchty.

If you want a longer route head over Tay Bridge and past Camperdown Park towards Coupar Angus. Lots of options from there.

There are lots of decent roads around St Andrews towards Crail/Anstruther way that have plenty of twisties and are normally quite quiet.
