decent car polish + elbow grease

wouldn't use t-cut unless there's damage as it's pretty aggressive isn't it?

this is the thing i think the t cut takes a thin layer off....to sort surface scratches so was thinking first time give it a once over with t cut then from then on polish and wax....anyrecommendations??

so does any polishing abrasive, but t-cut is designed to take enough off to smooth out scratches in the laquer...

i've user "Mer" polish and not had problems on the car or bikes, i'd try something like that before resorting to t-cut, if you're lazy get a drill polishing cloth attachment and if you're lazy and rich get a dedicated polishing buffer

I cant recommend Meguiars stuff enough - yes others will say there are better things out there but they will cost a lot more cash!

Wash the car as normal
Then "claybar" the car to get impurities out of the paintwork - I use this: http://www.carvaletwarehouse.com/pro...roducts_id=127

Then use the Meguiars 3-stage system to really bring the shine back - worked a treat on my Mrs black 2001 Clio

If its really bad then it might need a proper mop polish - but I cant beleive a 4 year old car could be that bad...

All available from Halfrauds

Depends on the level of oxidisation(sp?) As skip says use above, but if worse, then you will need a professional polish machine and some Meg cutting polish #38 i believe is the one to use, then polish the car afterwards. This is only recomended on cars with good paint, and VW is the hardest black paint on the market (Apprently!!) Vernas Lupo is black and is fading a bit in places.

I use the Meguiars application pads too - they work very well - and then microfibre cloths to polish it away...

Before and after pics please

Get it professionally valeted. Not by the foreigners that manage to smash your rear windscreen then wipe the shards of glass across scratching the paint.
Bought my Lexus which had been done by a genius and it looked brand new.
I'd just spend a bit of money getting it done professionally inside and out and then keep on top of it.
