my mate sez I'll get 100bhp - true?
....on a serious note and equally ridiculous, will it sound sexier or not? +1BHP if at all acheivable doesnt bother me but if it sounds better then may splash. Have a Quill slip on if relevant. ta |

112 bhp out of mine with a BMC filter and a M4 race system. Mind you it is a SV1000 so not too surprising.
If you get a filter which does away with the airbox (see www.jhsracing.co.uk ) it makes an amazing difference to the sound. With mine if you are anything over 8k and open it up the noise is amazing. Depending on how "open" the filter is you may need some re-jetting/remapping to stop it all running too lean.

I always worry about it running too lean. I'd like to use a K&N just cos its re-usable so cheaper in the long run, but daren't till someone assures me its ok. I have a slip-on can too.

The induction noise will be increased, you'll hear a growl under the tank at higher revs. I would recommend a BMC Road filter if you have only a slip-on can, most likely no rejet/remap required and it is also serviceable so you won't need to buy replacements.

i have got a k+n filter on mine and has been fine to be honest.
i havent paid much attention to it and cant compare it against others as its my first proper bike and its the only filter ive used but in general i reckon its ok |

That would depend on how the bike is at the moment, I will point out that like the Micron system the Blueflame doesn't offer anything except the fact you do not need to cut the OEM down pipe to fit a loud exhaust.

+1 for a BMC filter, sounded good on mine, also removing the sound deadening sponge under the tank can show results too if uve not already done it.
