Default Scottoiler Install 05 SV650S

Hi all,

Got meself a spanking clean 2005 sv650s about 2 months back...bout 9000 km on the clock and delighted with it!
neway bought the universal scottoiler kit at the NEC show and just wondering if anyone here has fitted one to the 05 s model.???
just having a bit of trouble on deciding where to mount the reservoir....under the seat is probably best but the bracket they supply doesnt seem to fit neatly under there (I wouldnt mind leaving a bit of space for a power commander in the future)

any help or pictures of what you did greatly appreciated!!

Cheers

I zip tied mine to the near side subframe under the pillion seat. Easy to fill/adjust and stays out of the way.

Nope.

Send him a PM and it will wait in his inbox till he picks it up. He's a regular on here. Shouldn't be a long wait.

I beg your pardon

You use the original mounting bracket and drill a 6mm hole in the side of the plastic tray under the pillion seat for it to bolt into. A cable tie may be needed to pull it over slightly, it was on mine. All the pipework can be hidden under the left bodywork and the delivery pipe drops down the back of the engine and under the swingarm. I P-clipped my delivery pipe at the back of the engine to stop it moving into the chain, there's an engine mounting clamp bolt to mount the P-clip off. The delivery pipe uses a 6mm P-clip on the flexible pipe and an 8mm P-clip at the back on the hard plastic one. Both have 6mm stainless steel screws holding them to the underside of the swingarm, which I drilled and tapped myself.

Okiedokie

I have only ever fitted one oiler to a pointy and to be honest, i wasnt that keen on what i done, but it worked and i believe still working (e.d's SV). 1st off you wont need a power commander. Its a waste of money unless youa re oging to spend shed loads on the engine...soooooo, i strapped the resivouir to the subframe on the near side of the bike just using cable ties and the black 'holder' It made filling the resiviour easy, i then run the pipe down the back of the frame behind the swingarm pivot then along the swingarm (cable tieing it to the chain guard mounts) the up and over the swing arm by the rear nut and onto the rear sprocket! What Lozzo has done looks a much better soloution imho but im not too sure about drilling the swing arm. The pointy is much better for these things as it has a ready drilled hole for the res bracket to mount too. So in all honesty, scoobs was telling porkies. I have fitted one, but it was a long while ago, and not on my bike, and i have no photos. Sooy i cant be of anymore help.
