well boys & girls i do feel stupid,heres the story,i purchased a cat c ,accident damaged sv 650 s on a 35 plate injection from a salvage yard to turn into a race bike,started to strip and put the battery on charge,went to it the next day put the battery on ,tried it ,wouldnt go ,tuned over with all dash lights but not fireing , if you go across the solonoid it fired up and ran,am i being stupid somewhere along the starting prosedure!!!!should i be sat on it ,or do i need to pledge alegence to a secret club!!lol cheers dave

Did it have an alarm on it originally? Is it possible some part of the alarm is still there/connected and working as an immobiliser?

Check the sidestand switch and clutch switch. The clutch has to be pulled in. killswitch aswell, have you checked that?

clutch pulled in still non starter ,no alarm/imobilliser,dash lights up ,horn,indicators,lights etc,buttons dead but goes of the solinoid

And what does it do exactly when you press the ignition switch?

Check your 'signal' fuse (and the other one's while you are there).
Also check your right hand switchgear wiring wasn't damaged in the crash, squashed against the yoke etc. (I had the same issue, I'm just relaying the info one of the SV gods on here gave me.).

signal fuse as in turn signal!!!! anyway checked fuse box (all 6) ok,so are the wires (switch gear)

will there be a tip over switch!!! like on cbr rrs r6,if so would it need setting ,clutching at straws !!
