Default Grrr! Flipping Cage drivers!

On my walk home from work I have to cross a pretty busy road. There is a small island with bollards specifically for pedestrians to use to cross the road. So there I was this evening waiting to cross over to the island, and the traffic starts to come to a halt. A car stops just beyond the island, and I check to make sure the next vehicle is going to stop before the island to allow me to cross...............but no. White van man stops right across the crossing place. Slightly peeved, as it was a totally ignorant thing to do, I make sure the traffic is still at a standstill, walk round the front of the van, and give the driver 'The Look!' asking, 'What was the point of that?' He did have the grace to look slightly ashamed.

So I'm waiting for my chance to cross the other lane of traffic, and **** me, the same thing happens again. Silly old duffer in a Skoda, right across the crossing point. This time I lean down (Not having to lean very far, it's true!), eyeball him through the window and say 'Thank you, you ignorant old son of a female canine', or words to that effect, and then cross the road.

Are most cage drivers really that ignorant, or are they just so wrapped up in their own little world and concentrating purely on the bumper of the vehicle in front that they just don't see anything else?

You've done all those miles on the back of Pete's bike and yet you still ask yourself the above question

The cage drivers who have never riden 2 wheels on the road are the ones which are ignorant, I think people who haven't road 2 wheels on public roads are only aware of what they'll be eating for dinner that night?

Yes, I guess it was really a rhetorical question!

I think drivers don't see these as crossing points.
Without the zebra crossing, I'm sure they don't have a clue what they're for.
It annoys me when they stop in traffic so close to them I can't get past.

Both probably.

There are some roadworks along the main road where I live at the moment, and for several days now the traffic has blocked the end of the side road that I live on, meaning no-one can turn in or out of the road for about 5 mins until the temporary lights change. Even then hardly anyone will let you out once the traffic's moving.

The stupid cow who deliberately closed the gap in front of me yesterday while i was waiting to pull out was left in no uncertainty as to how I felt about the situation!
