I know Burnley's a bit ropey, but you don't need to go all the way to Oz!

Are you planning to move permanently?

If so your first point of contact should be Australia House, the Aus consulate.

They will be able to provide all the info you need.

Not done it yet but will do hopefully at the end of the year, or at least apply for a transfer from work so early 2010.

I have looked into it and have a number of friends over there now who love it. The only thing they struggle with is the wages as they are low but that is doing a specific job. Not sure what the wages are like in general.

I think if you are in a position to do it then go for it, I am single have a house I can rent and a job I can return to in UK if it goes belly up so I have nothing to loose.

Have you got your way in sorted or you going hoping to land emplyment out there?
