Default VMware ESX bods

just moved over onto ESXi 3.5 U4 (HP management agents not in 4.0) from our previous VMware Server
Whats the pref over resource pools, better to use shares or reserve MHz?
If you reserve MHz does it stop that allocation being used at all on other hosts or does it just put it on a priority basis.

We had a consultant in to spec ours up and the resource pools are set to use shares rather than reserving mhz

IIRC -ralph- is a VMware consultant so maybe worth dropping him a PM or if you havent try asking on the forum on www.vmware.com as the chaps on there were really helpful when I got stuck with a iSCSI problem.
