Default Decide my Digital Camera

Lost my little point and shoot Powershot A550, not sure where or when. I have got my S9600, which is more than capable of a good photo, but not ideal for taking many places that I like to take a camera, I like being able to carry one with me all the time mostly.

So, my missus has agreed to buy me a new one for my 21st for <£150 I've narrowerd it down to 3 cameras now.

Samsung PL60 - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/162351...oduct_overview
Fuji Finepix F60 (is there a difference with the one that has fd at the end ?) - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/150188
Sony DSC-W220 - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/162857

Anybody got experiences with these? Which is better, I've got my S9600 which is Fuji, so I am steered towards that as I know the system on that...

I can only speak from using the Finepix F31fd, but it's a superb compact camera, images are bright and vibrant and for a compact it's phenomenally fast

Haven't tried any of those, but for around 30 quid more I can thoroughly recommend the Canon SX110. I bought one as my "snappy" camera and it's done a cracking job!

Best source of camera reviews I've seen, they go into waaaaaaaay more detail than you'll ever need...

I believe fd = face detection.

I am a fan of Fuji's personally.

Sony Finepx. Great camera, but we found the options on it were not very good. Cannot zoom whilst recording a movie, using the flash on anything not a Camera stand wouldn't work, come out blurry etc...

Last year we got one of those Panasonic DMC-TZ5 . Reading reviews its got some awards last year for the quality.

Honestly, its got to be the best small camera i've used. The optical zoom is immense. Its only a diddy camera...

Look at this for QUALITY zoom....

Far left, look out to sea, see the shipwreck...

I stood in the SAME place, zoomed in a fair bit (not maximum),

Then, on the picture id just taken, zoomed in on the picture, and cropped it... I could have zoomed in further, and cropped further.

We got it in the airport for £220.

Great camera, loads of features, great video, easy operation. Fantastic bit of kit.

I like taking photos btw.

PS, OPTICAL zoom is the thing that keeps the quality of the image, esp when zooming in.

Total resolution (i.e 10mill pixles) is just how BIG the image is. So when you reduce the size of the image the quality is kept through the amount of colours.

Go for Optical zoom over total amount of pixles.

The one i've put above is x10 OPtical zoom, which is more than many digitial cameras overall pixel quality.
