I've been given permission from the boss to start looking, for about £1.5k what is a wise choice?
Would really like a zx7r but they're mostly slightly above budget ![]() There's a fair few zx6r's sort of 97-00 that I found. No chance for r6's, not 100% sure about the thundercat, I really want a change from the sv. Honda's are ghey. mmmm SRAD I like, again there's a few around (dont like the later shapes though) But slingshots are pretty cool I reckon. Or should I just wait and save up ![]() I can insure 750's for not much more then 600's which in turn are not a lot more then the curvy. Litre bikes - insures laugh and rub their hands Furnish me with biased opinions, tales of woe and a one or two facts if there are any oh mighty org of orginess And if anyone says get a pointy, I'll get my fat brother to molest you. |

an old FZR600 out of the question? One of the guys i work with has got one and it immaculate (and never used) and still goes like a woman to money.

Good evening.
Don't write of the good old Thundercat. They're pretty good to ride, have excellent brakes, & are pretty reliable. Watch out for rotting exhausts, & general abuse. If they've been over on their right side, often the radiator will have a whopping dent in it. ZX6R's are reliable, but have a more frequent maintenance schedule for valve clearances. It often gets overlooked. If you can bear to get a Honda Go for one of the late steel framed CBR600's. FV 0r FW models perform well, ride nicely, & are pretty much bullet proof engine wise. Rotten exhausts again, & general abuse etc. Cheers. |

Highly recommend a ZX7R.
There'll be plenty around at £1500 or so in a month's time as the summer starts to fade. I sold my 98 7R for 1750 back in September last year, and it was in damn good nick. Early ones regularly go for a lot less - and what many people don't realise is that between 1996 and 2002 when they were produced, the ONLY thing Kawasaki changed was the paint schemes. |

Honda Hornet - packs a surprising punch and its a good handler (good enough for its own cup)

I've always been under the impression that the suspension was a bit poo on these? One reason for wanting a new bike. Cheap though.. Quote:
