Default new bike,a few probs

hi all, got my first bike a 02-03 curvey sv650s with 16000km on the clock about 3 weeks ago.
after about 300km i noticed a problem with getting stuck in gears(2nd not going down to neutral or 1st) at the lights, wasnt to bad only every now and again so taught it was just me,after about another 1000km it was getting very bad, so came on the site, tightend the chain and it sorted me probs out, that was a week ago.
went for a long weekend camping trip 600km in total with 2 up (21stone ish) and a tank bag,2 bagpacks, and sumstuff tied to the grab rail.came back sunday night didnt use the bike monday, and when i got on it today,i noticed that it wont role much when in gear and the clutch is in(the bike was off/cold and i didnt try it after the oil had warmed up) went for a short spin and everything seems fine.going trough the gears grand, however it was a bit ROUGH sounding once when going down into 1st.so i am just wondering if the long loaded spin mixed with all the rideing i have done on it with the chain loose(a few bad changes where it got stuck in second) has damaged the clutch? or does it just need adjustment?i noticed that the biting point had moved(loosend)slightly.
and my other problem is with the electrics, parking lights are ok.but the left head light will come on when ive dims selected and the right will be off,and when i select full beams the right head light will come on,but the left will stay dimmed.anyone have an idea what could be up with it? thanks for any help!!! and sorry for the long post

I'm forever adjusting the clutch to get the bite point right where i want it, which is just before it "drags" too much to change in to neutral while stationary. when moving a dragging clutch isn't much of an issue. if your having trouble when moving first thing to look at is linkage, and as basic as it seems, oil change.

as with the lights (please correct me someone if i'm wrong) i heard most were like that, you only have dipped and main on both sides if you have it converted. but like i said im not sure on that one....... mine's always been on both sides.

UK spec lights - lo/hi both sides, European spec - as described above.
If yours is a UK spec, then it could be blown filaments in the H4 bulbs, but it sounds like yours is European as you're quoting distances in km instead of miles

thats prob it so, as it has been imported at some stage.was just wondering as i tested 3 and two were as described, and my mate got another that has both on.so i taught it may have been caused by some sort of common electrical fault.all the clocks are in km and im in ireland.cheers lads

May be but if you press and hold select button on odometer this toggles readings between Km/h and Mph. Discovered this by accident when trying to set clock. So just because display is in kilometres does not automatically mean non uk bike although other indicators hint that this one is.

that only works on UK spec bikes. US are fixed in miles, and EU bikes are fixed in km.

cheers for the info lads, the bike seems to be grand again,im assuming that the 4hour spin in the very bad weather and then the bike being left up for the day in 1st made things a bit sticky until the oil got a chance to warm up
just wondering what should i do if the front cylinder refuses to ignite once or twice due to water/muck being thrown up onto it?im trying to get a fender extender. cheers lads
