Hello there
Just before setting off from my parents house back to home I noticed the low fuel light flash so I thought Id go to the petrol station that is on the way home. Before getting to the petrol station I noticed my bike cut out and come back on again about two times whilst I was doing about 30-35mph. Not only this but the lights on the dash e.g. neutral light, indicators and speedo was going crazy showing random readings like 130mph 58mph etc. I managed to safely get back home with it cutting out on me another 2 times after reaching the petrol station. Now I had a look at the connections on the battery and they all seem fine but is there anything else I could look for that might explain this??? If this does help I swapped my rear shock to a gsxr k4 about a month ago and the fitting of the battery and riders seat is tight. Could this be the problem??? Anyway Id appreciate any help you can give Cheers James |

The Speedo going mental was a case of a wire being loose on the right hand side of the airbox for me , if you kneel down on the right hand side and shine a torch in there you will see a Green connector that goes on a stem near the airbox , one of those was dodgy and was giving me impossible speeds of 180MPH when in fact I was stationary at traffic lights and debating whether to whip the phone out and take a piccy of it

+1 sounds like a short i had this very same problem on my 2002 curvy and all it was that the neutral was loose on the battery. what bike do you have as on curvys it is knowen for the wirring behind the headstock to disolve and cause all sorts of problems so i would say cheak there.

Ive got a pointy nicky. I did have a previous problem with the headlights cutting out all the time with one of the connecters behind the headstock but I fixed that...

Check your main fuse, it might be working loose (mine was)
I just taped it down with electrical tape and its been fine for over a month now |

Obvious suggestion would be to concentrate first on areas of the loom that you may have disturbed or altered the routing of when switching shocks.
Wiring shouldnt be too tight that it is stressed. If your battery connection is being pulled then the cable could be getting stretched or the connector could be working loose. Make sure all cables look secure and fit without being stretched, check for lose connector blocks (giving them a wiggle helps if theres any light corrosion). |

Sounds to me like a loose earth, maybe on battery itself.
This will cause some fuzziness. |
