Well I'm not happy. Just seen a specialist who I disliked from the minute I met him. He um'd, ah'd, waffled a fair bit and I eventually got out of him that he can wire my elbow back together which means a 3 month recovery period until I can ride, but he's so busy that having made me wait 10 days for an appointment and 90 minutes in the waiting room, it's another 2 weeks until he can operate. Then I'd have to go back at the end of the 3 months for another op.
I'm geting a second opinion at the hospital near work where they repair and rebuild the cricketers all the time. But I've just had to SORN the bike as the tax runs out this week and I think that hurt more than breaking the elbow in the first place. But on the upside, I'll be out for pizza on Thursday and as the cast is finally off I can eat more easily. ![]()

Aw no, thats a long time of being off the bike, i'm sorry to hear this LPH
![]() However, yay about the cast being off, thats one good thing at least. I hope the second opinion says something a bit more positive too.

Hope that your second opinion is more optimistic than the first. Having to SORN a bike is bad news, but hopefully you'll be riding again before three months. Good news about your pizza eating abilities though.

Could be worse, you could be SORNing two bikes for nine months or more......now that is tearful
![]() GWS with the elbow, sure you'll be as good as new in no time, and probably back on a bike quicker than me too ![]()

It's heartbreaking isn't it. I just emailed the unit that operated on the shoulder of Indian Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar which is close to work. Sachin scored a record 200 runs against South Africa today so his op obviously worrked. I'd be happy just to ride my bike and be able to blow dry my hair.

Making progress I think. Managed to nearly dry my hair two handed and can now do my bra up without having to put it on back to front and then Houdini my arms into it. But I think I can get away with claiming that any housework is far too painful for at least another 3 months.

Have you spoken to your insurance co. about your bike being sorned and maybe the MOT running out? Some ins. companies either say you are not insured or the value of your bike would be reduced in the event of a claim.

oh plop, better ring Carol Nash then. Didn't know that at all, wish I'd have known that before putting it on SORN, kinda couldn't ride it in my condition just for an MOT

No MOT due yet as the bike is only two years old. It tends to sit in the garage in the bad weather anyway as I don't use it for commuting and have the car for most journeys.
