Default Powder coating wheels.

I'm thinking about having my wheels powder coated, will I need to remove the bearings or can I just mask them up?

Does that mean I will need to replace the bearings and dust seals? Also, I assume that you need special tools to remove and replacethe bearings, is this the case?

Yes. Wemoto is your firend for bearings. Removing them, Hammer and a 3/8 socket extension is what i used for mine that and a Medium grade hammer.

To put them in, a few large washers and a length of studding with a couple of nuts. This draws them nice n even.

Dont forget your sprocket carrier as well and that also has a bearing.

Triple S in bingley are the best and deal purely in bikes. They have done every part of my RGV 250 restoration. When I get the engine out they will be doing the frame as well. The work they do gives you the parts back better than new.

Use the old bearings to knock the new ones back in.
