Was stuck in traffic tonight as usual waiting to board the Mancunian way off A34 with me visor open, spotted me chance and I'm away on the elevated section. Flipped me visor down and trapped a wasp on the way in to me face bottom left, could see it squirmin. No stopping on this section so panicking a lot, do I open up or put up with it until safe to pull over.
Concentration out the window, not nice at all, could have easily crashed so flipped me visor with a prayer and the little git dissappeared. Is it in or out ? Not sure but figured it must be pretty ****ed off. Made me way to the Shell garage on Regent road and removed me lid rapid. Lucky me, no sign. This was terrible, can easily cause a crash. Any wasp or bee stories ? |

Had a wasp sting me on the hand at a services up by Carlisle, then had to ride down the motorway, trying not to cry as my throttle hand grew with pain.
Not particularly pleasant.

Yep, wasp in helmet cos i opened my visor to cool me down a bit It got stuck in gap between ear and cheek padding, luckily i was on a back road so i quickly pulled into a layby pulled helmet off quickly while flapping arms up and down in a rediculous girly manner. The car infront of me in the layby was full of kids and lost parents who all found it very amusing! Also when i was alot younger i rode a scooter with an open faced helmet and got hit in between the eyes by a bumble bee which resulted in bruising and looked like i had been punched.

last year i spotted a wasp/bee about 300yards down the road, it was that big. it meandered towards me and struck me in the chest at high speed wearing leathers, me not the bee. felt like been hit by a bullet.

Got a fly in my eye once, only thing is, it was in the better of the two, so went completely blind trying to ride and pull it out at the same time. Obviously had to pull over as I couldn't see a thing. It would have been so much easier if it had gone in the bad un!
Giant bugs on motorways are best, but not so when it goes right in the middle of your visor, and you can only see the splat! Especially when you try and wipe it off only to realise it blends into the many millions of midgies on it. Then you have to try and wipe a hole big enough to see through the mess.

Got hit on the neck by a bee at motorway speeds with no neck roll on, felt like I'd been hit by a hard pea from a pea shooter - remember those? Hurt for 2 days!

Got hit in the eye by a bee at 90mph *keystroke error* should read 70mph. Horrendous black eye, massive blood shot mess for a couple of weeks. And pain like like mega!
Guess who now flips the visor down as soon as he is moving?

A certain ecosse member got a wasp inside his helmet whilst on a rideout. managed to safely pullover and jump off bike, lid off and wasp flew away neither participant any the worse for the meeting. Then he heard the crash as his ZX9R hit the deck as he had forgotten the side stand in his haste. lol

I got a wasp in my helmet today. Pulled into a side street, helmet off - no sign. Went to put the lid back on and found the little bugger had been sitting quite still on the side of my head. Luckily no sting.
