Smile TRE mod or g-pack? please help.

hi all.... i am really confused about whether i should do the TRE mod which is cheap, or get a g-pack for 120pounds, they say the g-pack is better and doesent course over fueling which a TRE mod courses. as the igniton is linked to the ECM which controls fueling, Not sure as i have no experience with this mod at all and am totally looking for help and advice. i dont wanna wast pounds but want the best result... thank u

You seem desperate to waste a lot of money very quickly

there is very little you can do short of major engine rebuilds to significantly improve the power of an SV so stop trying.

Far better to spend your money on improving the suspension and the rider.

in honesty, ive got a gpack,

it makes a small difference but not large, you wont notice large gains, or even medium,

my bike feels a little smoother,

i only got the gpack as i won it for 30 quid on ebay, i wouldnt spend any more on one

This is a topic that has come up before, and rather than repeat the answers again, dp's advice is sound. To translate dp's answer into humanspeak - both these options have been discussed at length and the concensus is they don't work.

Your best advice will come from searching these forums and reading through the threads previously posted. Armed with the is info you will either be able to make an informed choice, or ask questions that are more pertinant to your situation.

My thoughts are that any minimal power gain just isn't worth it. Sort out the suspension and get some advanced lessons / track days / Bikesafe / Bike sense experience and enable yourselve to use the 70-ish BHP better - and thus make you faster / smoother.

If you want more power there is only 2 choices......major engine work or a new bike.

G Pack is just connectors with a resistor.
In short you could do the mod yourself for the cost of a 10p resistor but in truth the mod doesn't make any noticeable difference. So if you are desperate to do the mod then do a search and find out where to wire the resistor but don't waste your time and definately dont waste your money.

ice to save you getting absolutely flamed

Search the forum for suspension upgrades as they will give you more use of the power that is there for not a lot of money.

Both mods are waste of cash.
