Default A very sad ebay link

Do you remember, just over a year ago, my friend Henry was killed on his bike?

Salvage company now has his bike for sale. I wouldn't want to touch a bike if I knew it was in a fatal crash. Is this just because I knew Henry, or am I being stupid?

He didn't want it to be a Daytona, he wanted it to be a modern racing Trident. So he removed all the Daytona decals, did a 70s style racing paint job, and painted the Trident logos on the bike.

sorry to see this Ed.
Cant be an easy thing to see.
I wouldnt touch it if I knew the history, but the sad fact is, the person buying it wouldn't know.

Ed, I think what you feeling is a bit of both. I personally wouldnt want a bike knowing someone has been killed on it but for you its more personal isn't it.

Giant hugs Ed, I bet finding that was a great shock and brought back some memories x

Ed, firstly *hugs*. Secondly, no, I wouldn't want a bike someone had been killed on, but as Speedplay said, the buyer won't know. Sad.

When I was meeting my instructor at his house for the first time, I told him I'd be getting an SV upon passing my test. When we went to his garage to get the bikes out, he showed my a slightly scuffed SV and another slightly damaged bike he had in there too.

Apparently they belonged to friends and had both been involved in a fatal incident. Before that I had never thought it would have been possible for a bike involved in a fatal accident to not be completely smashed. I now often wonder about the history of my bike, but it's best not to know.

A great rideout, to Barmouth. One of those hot sunny days you want never to end. Henry needed a Kleenex cos he parked up next to a genuine Trident:

and here's the bike, same day:
