Default Changing gear lever, how easy?

to change my gear change lever?

I've got a new one off ebay - Is it simply remove spring clip, un-screw connecting rod, change lever, re-screw connecting rod, replace spring clip?

Or is there something more to it?

Yep that's about as complicated as it gets! Make note of the position of the linkage rod before undoing it so you can set the new one up the same.

No on a pointy its a 'C' clip. Worth replacing this with a new one if you can.

There's not really much point replacing the circlip unless it's completely shagged, which it shouldn't be. If it's marked or rusty just rub it down with a bit of emery paper or scotchbrite, regrease and reuse.
