Default Pointy Tailtidy/Undertray advice

Hi, iv got a pointy 2004 sv650, it currently has an undertray (see bolow pic) tailtidy thing, but i want to take it off and put on the standard one as iv had a load of problems with the one thats on it.

can anyone tell me, if i buy a tailtidy which mainly look like a small bracket,
product_ref_4570.jpg do i need to buy another undertray. i cant make my mind up whether to get the original undertray/ number plate holder back on it or not.
