What's a RAR file and how do I open it? Do I need any downloads etc?

You need winrar. A .rar file is similar to a .zip file, just a compression of a number of files in to one larger file.

P.s. Winrar is the best program for opening compressed files, winzip is a pile of crap!

There are plenty of free cracked versions out there on torrent sites... But most people don't agree with that sort of thing.

Or stay legitand grab a copy of 7Zip - which will do ZIP, RAR and about anything else too.

And its free so no need to install a hack that will also probably put a virus on your system...

winrar has a 30-day trial i think, but it doesn't stop you using it after that. you just have to click yes or something in a pop up

i thought windows come with a built in viewer.

Windows built in viewer is winrar, unless that change in windows 7... Which I also have a cracked version of haha I'm so naughty and virus free!
