I love the idea but I cant help thinking it may cause unnecessary panic on occasion, then when you actually need ti to work you've got a "boy who cried wolf" senario on your hands.

Hmm sounds good in principle but I'd have fears that it would go off when stationary for other reasons? Unless I'm missing something?

If it works with GPS, it'll be accurate to what 10 meters at best?

We trialled a similar thing at work for lone working. Idea was that if someone didnt move for a while they might have strapped themselves to 30kV. However, all that happed was that everyone involved deleloped a near involutary twitch just to keep the thing in check when doing all the boring office work.

Thats what I mean about boy who cried wolf.

I'll be sat down having a cheeky smoke and a bacon butty when in a hollywood sty-le, police cars arrive from all angles sirens and lights going nuts and then the wife jumps out the front of one and comes running towards me crying first but then we all know it'd turn into a butt kicking.

I imagine this would happen a couple of times before she'd stop coming... and on that occasion I'd be in a ditch needing urgent attention.

That is EXACTLY what would happen, dont try convince me otherwise.
