Right have spent few days researching parts/add-ons (shortened levers, braided hoses, carbon hugger, light tint double bubble, k&n and exhaust) for my sk6. All in all everything will probably cost about £500 + some add-ons will need fitted at mechanics.
I will probably sell the bike within next 2 years. is it worth puttin this sorta money in? I love the bike, but wanting to do more touring. Would like full hard luggage more upright etc etc have been looking at VFR 800 and the likes. Ne advice? |

Maybe just do the mods that can be returned to standard when you come to sell the bike?
Keep the original parts and refit to bike for sale and then ebay the aftermarket bits to get some money back. Levers, hugger, screen, k&n, exhaust would all fall under this. |

yea, gd thinking. Getting the hoses done as my bike is 6 years old and hopefully get the hoses done now and at least the next buyer doesnt need to worry about having to change them.

I think a gixxer front end swap is beyond me at the present time but some new fork springs/oil and a zx rear shock should go a long way to transforming the handling. I plan on keeping my SV for a good while to come but you could say that for the OP this is not going to be cost effective if the bike is only a short term ride? |

Before you do anything speak to your insurance company, advise them it's non performance improving, some companies only allow £500 worth of extras free, some as many as you want as long as it's non performance improving and some only allow 5 non performance improving mods.
I think zx6 rear shock fits, I would find out which rear and front fit, get them off ebay, fit them and find a good company to set it up. |
