Default Getting insurance after front end swap?

Have put a gsxr front end & bh1 shock on my sv650, and now renewal time is up i find that my insurers (who go through aviva) are simply unwilling to insure now that the suspension has been changed , beyond being raised or lowered.
can anyone suggest reasonably priced insurers who can accept these kind of changes ?

I think go compare have a modification bit on there insurance question and you can out in brakes and suspension, then you will get a quote from all the insurer willing to insure you. When i had it i think the best quote came from bikesure insurance

Correct statement:
It has uprated suspension and brakes (if they ask further, stiffer springs, better damping, more powerful brakes...). Don't lie but do your best to put it in terms they are less likely to have a problem with.

Incorrect statement:
I smashed it up, innit, so me and me mates found some bits on ebay from some bike or another, think it might have been a GSXR, and got a lash on and bodged it all up in me shed, like.

hastings just insured me for not a lot - don't expect them to be any good but they are legal and allow me to ride other bikes.

In my view it does increase the performance of the bike...but if they ask you that question, try get to the bottom of exactly what they're questioning as said above - they mean engine performance.

Hastings direct guy " does it increase performance of the bike"
me "erm, do you mean engine performance i.e power output?"
Hastings direct guy "does it increase performance sir"
me- " just to clarify are you asking me if uprated suspension and brakes have affected the engine power?"
Hastings direct guy; "yes"
me: No, as the suspension and brakes have been upgraded which are not the engine

I didn't think that fast so answered truthfully, just said they're better components from another model.

I had a bit of an argument with a jumped up little **** who seemed outraged at the prospect and said they wouldn't insure me I pressed him and after a while he rang the underwriters...who would insure me.
I'm not sure I'd be comfortable straying tooo far from the truth with insurance co's

And that's the hard bit.

Obviously it's easy to say "bog standard mate", all I try and get is plausible deniability so it wouldn't be worth the hassle of pursuing if they were of a mind to.
