Default Clutch case stuck in place.

My clutch is causing problems so I want to check the springs and plates for wear.

This evening I drained my oil and coolant so was feeling a bit smug because I'm not so good at this kind of thing.

Then I removed the 14 bolts from the clutch cover but it won't budge. Have I missed something somewhere or is it just seized from age? In which case how do I free it up?

Bike is a 2004 K4 650S on about 25k miles.

Give it a gentle tap with a soft headed hammer from different directions, its just stuck with age

Did you keep all the oil and coolant? If so, stick it back in and run the engine till its warm amd try again.

I had the same problem last year on a Suzuki GN125 and still dont know why it wouldn't come off. I know this doesn't help but at least you know its not just your cover that is stuck!

Does the SV have dowels on the clutch cover? If it does you'll need to be pulling equally on all sides, tilt it at all and you'll get headache lockout.

rubber mallet or hide hammer is best, or if you must use a steel hammer use a bit of wood between the casing and the hammer, not that I've seening it a few years but you can easily break or damage the casing.

Cheers Mark.
