Default Fuel mix correct? Choke and clicking noise.

Posted about this a while ago, but it was passed off as my baffle clicking - but i've noticed something else which makes me think otherwise...

its a '99 sv650s, id originally posted a vid to show this really irritating clicking sound when the bike idles.

recently i've noticed it doesn't click when the choke is on. tested this a few times at red lights etc - i'd pull up, hear the clicking, sloooowly apply the choke and at a certain point (only a tiny bit of choke) the clicking stops, and the bike sounds a whole lot healthier, push the choke in again and a few seconds later the clicking is back!

any clues or solutions would be greatly appreciated! - id considered leaving this be, because the bike runs fine this aside, but its just sooooo irritating.

What's your idle speed? The choke may be bringing the idle speed up to a point where nothing in the motor is flapping about, as can happen on an overly lumpy idle?

I usually aim for something around 1,400 rpm

Rictus must have got out wrong side of bed this mornin - I've told everything there is to know rictus, no mods. Not touched the bike! The clicking has been there since I bought it in April, but like I said it was passed off as clickin baffle until I noticed choke stopping clickin.
