Garmin Zumo 660 GPS SATNAV UK & Full Europe

First the praise about this device (I don't work for Garmin!):

Bought this a few years back for my first Europe trip. While dazed and tired at the top of the Alps on a snowy, windy day, I varied my route and the Garmin guided me down with crystal clear explanations. Daily I used it to find petrol stations near my route (especially in France when half are shut on Sundays). I used it to find the closest hotel every night of my 3 week trip.

Beyond the direction instructions and decent graphics, it plays music. Load your mp3s to the SD card and pop it in. I bluetoothed it to my scala rider intercom and spent 3 weeks in Europe listening to jazz It pauses your track when it needs to say something. Also plays audiobooks. You can bluetooth it to your phone but I didn't have any incline to to try that.

What you get:

Box, satnav, the mount for the handlebar, the car mount (auto switches to car mode which seems to me "show a car rather than a bike icon") and obviously the leads to wire to battery. FYI I am a bike maintenance idiot (well bike idiot) but managed to wire this in myself, so anyone can do it.

Don't quote me on this but I believe Garmin now do free lifetime updates to their maps. I have just recently updated this device anyway. It also has lane assist (shows a picture of a junction with an arrow pointing to where you should be), and will speak street names (with hilarious results in Germany).

In the spirit of the friendship, some info - if you'd rather buy a new one of these, the latest model is out now 469.99 on the garmin website you may find www,handtec.com cheaper and have excellent service.
