Am i right in saying that all scottoilers are essentialy the same?
If i was to get a unit that was fitted to a bandit before, will it still work on mine? It would also have a dual injector on it.

They are indeed all the same. The only thing to watch out for is that you have all the right fittings to connect it up to your bike.
You can of course get the extra bits directly from scotoiler. Often FOC. |

What sort of peices would you need.
I am told that the stuff the guy has comes with all the tubes, the T peice for the carb connection, the bottle unit and the dual injector.

That's all the main bits, make sure you get the right angled intake connector - it has a filter in it, everything else can be improvised.
Throw the dual injector away and fit it properly.

You saying that the dual injector stuff is useless?[/quote]
When it works it works well although I've just ripped mine off as it gave me nothing but hassle... ![]() |

I haven't used a dual injector personally, but I have my Scottoiler fitted to deliver oil onto the side of the gearbox sprocket (not a conventional arrangement) and the oil finds its way across the chain rollers with no real problem.
It's always slightly damper on the oil feed side of the chain, but an occasional wipe with a clean rag to remove some of the road dirt will ensure it's oily all over anyway. The main trick is to keep the feed rate appropriate for the conditions. If it's cold, wet etc turn it up a touch. If you're going to do a long high speed trip also turn it up a notch. A bit of experimenting will soon show what settings to use. ![]() |
