Default Frame Ground

Is it ok to use the frame mounting points or any mounting point on the bike as ground instead of running cables back to the battery for ground?

What are you installing? On a bike, i would prefer to run back to the battery. This is because the bike uses a cast frame, and its resistance is quite high, although conductive. If you installing something like heated grips, or higher powered horns etc, then back to the battery. Its not as if its as long as a car

Just twin FIAMM's with a relay.

I am not folowing rictus's way of puting the relay up front, it is going under the seat with everyting else.

Just trying to be lazy. Will run the cable back to the box then.

Done that. Run the relay at the front, in fornt of the air box, that way you only have 2 ground wires and a live running back to the battery. Your way, you will have 6/7 wires. Nothing wrong with having the realy at the front.

In the end i zip tied the relay to the support between the cylinder heads, that way you can easly get to it and with visual inspection from the side check the connections.
