just looked at a thread in(tuning and tweeking) about adjusting your throttle bodies on the injected versions of the sv.
when you fit a can is it ok to leave your set up how it is if all is running ok? i was told that the ecu remaps itself up to about 5% so you can get away with a can,but you need retuning if you fit more, k+n,p commander ect? a race can with a removeable baffle cant be set up can it cuz your fueling changes when you fit and remove your baff? i dont know do you? daz |

As stock the SV is a little rich, so would benefit from a remap. A higher flow air-filter and a freer flowing exhaust will make it run leaner than it comes.
You can leave it as it is, since it will probably still be ok, but If you're done doing mods then you might as well have it remapped. Also, though alot of people talk about the ECU compensating for changes, more than a few people have asserted that it cannot do this, as there isn't a lambda sensor (I think that's the reason) Have a search for remap in the talk and tuning section. This topic comes up alot. Oh, and you don't need a power commander, no matter what somebody tells you. Wanting one is a different matter, it could make your life easier if you like doing alot of different track days or just like fiddling. |
