Never tried the Rainbow thingys! Have upgraded the bulbs to Osram silver stars and find they do give a whiter light (They're Xenon rather than Halogen). If I remember right, they are 60/55W. They've been in for about 18 months with no problems. I wouldn't recommend going too high on the wattage though; the SVS has plastic lenses so may be affected by the extra heat.

Hope this helps

AlanSV has some on his thou. They really make the lights and therefore bike stand out from other bikes, but unsure if they make them any more noticeable per se. I quite like them, although putting a style-policemans cap on I'd say they introduce extra colours that might not 'go'.

I’ve fitted one on my naked to make the bike more noticeable for safety reasons but it does restrict a lot of the light output for night time riding.

I had them on my bike for all of one evening. They cut down the total ammount of light output. Personaly i dont think thay make your bike anymore visible/Unique. The only way you can do that is your own road positioning.

However, upgrading your bulbs is a must for night driving

I've been using them for ages, my opinion is that in conjunction with the correct road position, the prism effect of the light does seem to attract drivers attention a little more.

Viney is right that it does tone down the light levels at night, but I dont tend to ride much at night, so I just stick on full beam.
