Default Stebel Magnum horn

OK

I have bought a Stebel Magnum horn, but nowhere on the packaging or horn does it say what wattage it is (it's 12V), so i don't know what size of relay to get to wire it through...

I tried doing a direct swap for the horn on my bike, as advised by the guy from Nippy Normans, where i got it from (they don't know the wattage either), and it made a clicking noise... (i was really hoping this would work, as my electrical skills are of an experimental nature).

Anyone who can advise on what relay size (in amps) i should get? If it's any help it is -136dB...

Thanks

Fitted mine yesterday, direct swop.
Sounds like yours may be broken, send it back.

try it with a couple of wires directly onto the battery before sending it back. Take care not to short anything out, hold the earth wire in place on the battery -ve and just touch the +ve wire onto the battery +ve briefly.

I just fitted a pair of FIAMM horns- the small snaily ones, not the big horny ones - and as a result of following the instructions to the letter got them wired up all wrong- when connecting the -ve to an earth point as directed I got clicks, when connecting it directly to the -ve of the battery I get one major HOOOONK!

So it could be the same with yours. In the end I binned the instructions and just connected the relay into the original battery cable and wired up the horns straight to the battery- in other words, exactly how I'd have done it in the first place without the instructions
