while out on a blast on sunday i took a sweeping bend at 90-100ish and found the rear of my k3 to be wallowing around. is this what people mean when they say the sv has got cheap suspension? any quicker and i think it may have turned into a bucking bronko.
is there an adjustment i can make or it that how they are? sorry but i know bugger all about this matter ![]() |

Swap it out for a GSXR shock will probably be your best best at better suspention on the cheep, shock should be no more than about £40. I think it is something like the 600 if you are lighter and the 1000 if you are a bit heaver than average.
A bit of cutting is needed though. Someone will be along soon that has actualy done it, FS has done several i think. Otherwise you could dish out about £250 i think for a new hagon one made for your weight.

hello, you are just another one of us who has finally realized that the rear shock on the SV is ****. luckily there is an adjustment you can make although most people refer to it as installing-an-ohlins-unit. the SV shock has minimal adjustment options on it and i would definately recomend an upgrade, even if its just sticking a gsxr shock in there instead.
hope that helps TRICK |

if it was wallowing then you might need to up the preload a little. Once you have it adjusted right and you push it right to the limits it will start to kick as it just can't handle the bumps. Eventually the back might skip and you lowside.

GSXR shock is good and as you have a pointy you are able to use the newer GSXR shocks unlike curvey bikes that have to use pre SRAD shocks. I have a ZX6 shock, i dont know if they fit K3+ bikes, unfortunatly i needs heavy modifications, unlike the hagon which is a direct swap or the GSXR which is a minor mod.

get one and find someone with an ABBA stand or NWS stand, not one of the rear paddock stands as the shock cannot have any load. Then you need to get a bolt and nut from Suzuki to be able to fit the new shock.
Few tools a bit of know how and do it. I think there is a few how toos on the forum on how to do it.

Try upping the preload first. If you don't know how to setup the SV shock then you're gonna be lost when you see the settings options on a GSXR shock.
