Default Little plug in thing

I know thats the technical term, but my bike has been popping and farting again.

there's a little tube on the rhs behind the radiator that sucks in air and messes up my fueling, there should be a cap on this but used to have a bolt in there, lost the bolt once my baby was warmed up yesterday and can't find another one to fit.

1) should this be happening at all?

2) any suggestions for fixing it?

3) anyone got/ had the same thing?

4) anyone got that widget that i might have?

the tube sounds like it was put there to ease carb sync, because access to the front vacum pipe hard. Just put a screw in it to block it up. Make sure its the pipe that goes to the carbs though not something else.

how can i put in a bolt that'll be big enough (diameter) once the pipe etc has warmed up, can i put a tiny jubilee clip on?

Yep or just get a paper clip and using pliers just tighen it around the rubber end when the bolt is in place. Or you can create some kind of bung. Or just use a over size wood screw which will grip the sides of the tube even when its warm.

If you have a "nearly right" bolt to put in, use a small Ty-rap ("cable tie") to pinch the hose around it AND keep the bolt from falling out once warm. Problem solved. It'll also save the shart thread of a wood screw from cutting through the tube.

Cheers,

Garry
