Default Anyone visited the Millau Viaduct in France yet???

Hey guys,

I've had my (first) bike ('99 SV650s) just under a year now and its the best fun I've ever had with my clothes on!

On June 3rd this year, myself & 5 others are heading off to France to visit the Millau Viaduct.

http://www.tacuroctr.com/images/Blog/Millau_Viaduct.jpg

Its huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge!!!!!!

I don't think I've ever been this excited about anything in my entire life. It's all I can think about at the moment and I cant wait!!

This is just an enquiry really to see if anyone else out there is planning on going to the Viaduct, or has anyone been before????

not been yet, but spent many hours in traffic jams in that part of the world with overtired children (& wife!) in the car in the pre-bridge days!

check this thread, there's some info on there which might be useful

hang on, linked to the wrong thread...back in a minute

What was the opening speech for that bridge? Something like "What a great day for France, a great triumph of French engineering"

(designed by Norman Foster)

Uma drove over it a week ago and I drove under it. For me it is a case of the journey being important not the destination. It's OK, its a bridge but Millau looked a lovely town to visit, I couldn't look around as I was on my way to a nephew who was expecting me. There are much nicer bridges to see in France but I guess you have to see for yourself.

I haven't been there yet, but the wife has allowed me to save up for a Hayabusa, so I might pop done there for the afternoon in the next couple of years!

Detouring to see it when heading back up from C.d'Azur next month. I think it will be worth it having seen some pics. Massif Central is suppossed to be nice anywayz. Better than sitting on the normal autoroute heading north....
