It's easy.

32mm socket for the front sprocket. It is done up chuffin tight though so you will need a long extension bar to get it off. Don't forget to bend the tabs back on the tab washer first.

It's easier to cut the chain off. You will need a chain rivetter to put the new one on.

Rear sprocket is as easy as it looks. Just loosen the nuts.

Annnnnd......£250???? ******** to that.

I got chain and both sprockets fitted on my SV for about £120 IIRC. Including the chain and sprockets.

what he said, plus, don't forget to put a decent bit of wood in the back wheel to stop it turning when you undo the front sprocket.
You should be able to get the c+s set done by a garage for about £150.

Or just have a mate sat on the bike with the rear brake on, did mine last night easy job to stop the wheel turning.

A good breaker bar is worth the money in shifting the front sprocket £12.99 at Halfords.

Oh believe me, I tried that. The rear brake simply wasn't strong enough.

Have I made a mistake here, I took the chain off and just left the bike in first and that was enough to stop the sproket turning. Don't think anything broke its been fine for the last 2k.

I could easily turn the engine over in any gear by applying a turning force to the front sprocket. Maybe mine was just on very tight and yours was pretty loose.

I had my bike in gear with someone standing on the rear brake and I had the same problem as Carsick. Like he said a bit of wood through the spokes to stop the wheel turning was the solution. The nut is something like 150Nm which is fecking tight. On my CBR it is 50Nm. Leaving that in gear was enough.
