If anyone is experiencing really slow internet connections and you are with NTL then I have finally found out it is due to a bad proxy server.
If you are having this problem do the following: in Internet Explorer go to Tools->Internet Options... Then click the Connections tab and then LAN Settings... In here in the Proxy settings section, tick the first tick and add this to the fields: Address: 62.252.32.11 Port: 8080 This should direct you through a different proxy server and speed you up. If not, just remove these settings and the tick, and forget I typed anything here. HTH some of you if you had a problem in the first place. |

If it's utterly crap, tell them, and say you wish to cancel as they have not fulfilled their contractual obligation. . |

unfortunately all the online speed checkers check your speed by downloading and uploading. And generally this isn't where the problem lies.
NTL are useless, they know they have a problem but won't admit it to anyone, they are trying to fix it. If you ring them they will go through so many other options before giving you a different proxy server local to you. The one I have posted I think is more SE/KENT area, so it may not help you all. sorry |
