Default Boots Warranty: Bl**dy Dog!

Sorry if this is the wrong section for this, but I didn't know where else to put it.

I put my boots down for a few minutes after coming in and making myself a sandwich and I return to find that my loving dog has chewed one of the fastening straps off.

I'm pretty sure that this is not covered in the warranty, but is there any way that I could trim it a bit and say it just snapped?

Failing that, do Alpinestars supply spares for their boots (SMX) and can anyone give me an idea of price?

Many thanks.

Oh and I bought them at Hein Gericke, farnborough. So if anyone on here works for them or has any inside infor it would be most appreciated.

NO. That would be a dishonest act.

Reduce the dogs food for a few weeks and you should have enough for a new pair from the money saved

The added bonus is that the dog will soon learn to associate eating a SMXs' with reduced meal. Result

Cheers
Ben

You can't punish the dog so far after the event, it will not associate it.

Do the honest thing. Tell them in HG what happened, give them a good laugh, they will most likely be very helpful.

I suggest contacting an A* dealer and see what they say. I bet they can be repaired, but wouldn't be surprised if they have to be sent to Italy.

Dogs are really bad at making associations like that.

Nah, I was joking about cutting them up. (Forgot to put a smiley in there) No sense wronging HG over a part that could probably be bought in for about £10.

The buckle comes off with an allen key, so do you think that I could just order it in rather than sending the entire boot off?

Thanks for the comments, your help is appreciated.

Sorry for the double post, but I can't find anything online about spare bits for alpinestars boots. I'll have to try and ring HG to see if they have any ideas, but if anyone finds anything please let me know. Thanks.

I had great trouble with my dog eating my boots so I gave him my old work ones - he seemed happy with the deal and never bothered any new boots of mine again
