Default Good deal or not?

Just had to fork out for a new 'puter, I couldn't be bothered to build one and so I bought this - what do you think? I'm hoping it'll last a couple of months at least:
PD dual core 930 (3ghz, 2x2mb, 800fsb)
2gig ram
350gig hd raid 0 stripe
19" flat screen
DVD burner
Window XP
256mb nvidea Geforce 7900GS graphics card
Integrated SB audigy (will replace when funds allow)
etc
etc
etc
yawn

for £850 all in

(just noticed they've just dropped by £35 and have a 500gig HD today - )

Well?

There's another name given to 'serious gamers'.........

I should mention that there is loads of other stuff with it like printers, sound systems, etc etc. But that doesn't bother me too much.

I think its a bit pricey dude, my pc has gone tits up and im having serious withdrawral symptoms from not playing CS and BF2

you could build it cheeper buying the parts from overclockers and building it yourself

if you dont want to build they do pre built systems here clicky

im going to have to save the pennys and buy when i get back from hols

I have no idea how computer things are priced Sterling wise.
However, if it does the job, if you can run what you need to run from it, then sod it, its grand.
Unfortunately if you run Windows on it, it will get slower and slower over time. But, you can just re-install it once in a while.

Or, you could run Ubuntu, and have it running perfectly forever

I thought about a MAC - lovely machine, but in a world where we prefered the VHS to the superior Betamax I seem to be stuck with Microsnot if I want to run anything!

New Macs can dual boot to WinXP and OS X. Looked at one when they announced the intel versions (I'm a C# developer so need windows), but the prices put me off (as have the quality issues that have made the IT press since they were released). Maybe one day I'll give it a go...
