"Dangerous".
![]() The chain is a little loose, granted but how the hell can they call it unsafe to ride? Anyone got any experience of this at all? Thankfully before he even looked at the can or plate he decided the guy they had nicked was more important and told me to get on my way. Surley if it was dangerous he shouldn't have done that either???? Not that i'm complaining mind you. Juts after your points of view on a badly adjusted chain and the trouble you can get in for it. oh and if you live/ride in London watch out, they are in regents park outer circle, south of the Mosque. Waiting. 2 cars full with hairdryers pointed. ![]()

Are you sure he wasn't saying "Sorry bike, but I've got to impound your rider, he's dangerous"
![]() Never heard of that...

The reason they said it, was because "dangerous" is the only way they can impound it and stop you asking for a "deferred test"
I think you were very lucky to get away, I would guess they were lining you up for full charge re pipe, plate etc.... |

"Can you please explain to me officer, why, in your opinion, my bike is dangerous."
Followed by: "If you're impounding it, take me to the nearest police station please so I can get a written summary of why you're reliving me of my ownly form of transport, and thereby my means to get to work." Or something along those lines. If they insist on impounding it, I'd damn well make sure they did all the paperwork for it. Then if it got impounded unjustly, I wouldn't need to pay to get it back. Hopefully. Lucky you got away with it spidey! |

That's odd Spidey. Did the cop look at the chain in particular?
Normally when I have heard this sort of thing, its not mechanical issues, more dodgey tail light etc sort of issues. Did you ask him why? Was he being all aggressive etc, or just quietly saying its not safe mate? I would say, give the bike a good clean, (presuming its not?), have a look over it to see if there is something you missed, tighten the chain up a wee bit, and maybe even take it over to the local cop shop to have it ok'd. Thats probably over reaction though. I dont know. You dont have the cops number or anything? You could mention it while you are down there. It would highlight the situation if the officer seemed to have a problem with certain groups of people... so to speak. ![]() |
