Hi Kev

Welcome to the site!

There is lots of info on here about gixxer fork conversions - use the search facility or have a look here:-

Click me

Quite a few streetfighter conversions around aswell - not all of them intentional

One tip - some of the old duffers on here don't understand text speak so if you can avoid it it will be appreciated

Yes. GSXR srad or newer ones. Can probably fit most front ends on if you're prepared to spend the money and time. Personally, I wouldn't bother unless you could manage to get a 'complete' front end as it'd be a pain in the **** to get all the bits individually.

What sort of work needs done anyway? Replacement forks? They cost about £90-110 2nd hand.

Can't remember if 51 is a carbed (round frame) or fuel injected (big ugly frame) SV, but eithe rway there's fairly simple GSXR front swaps. As close to straight bolt-in as you can get and have it still be interesting

£350! Yep, no joke. Even if it's a nail it's worth more than that in parts. I'd be looking for the catch

For USD front: SRAD 750 yokes, top bearing from Twin Works Factory, TL1000S or LSL clipons, speedo kit from... Eh, can't remember, someone else will though. Guy in the states. Wheel off of a SRAD, TL or Busa, discs off any of those plus any more recent GSXR that doesn't have radial calipers, forks, plastics and calipers off of a GSXR750 SRAD, Y-K3. Sorted There's other ways of doing it mind. All SRAD is simplest. GSXR thou forks are generally considered inferior, they're KYB instead of Showa. Mine is SRAD with Y-K3 forks, for now.

Oh ayem, and expect Mr Insurance to not like you much... The forks aren't all I've got going on but most places won't even quote for mine now
