Default Re: Resistance

As someone who spent a lot of time looking into this issue, and reading the posts elsewhere, a Flasher Relay is the easiest way.

The resistors you need to use are not off the shelf items in Maplins and in order to get to the right values you need to stack 2 or 3 of them together.

A flasher relay is only a couple of quid more expensive than getting the resistors, and is a much easier and more elegant solution.

£10 to £20 quid depending on where you get it will set you right.

How long is a piece of string?

This very much depends on the specific LEDs that you have, and the power they use, combined with the input voltage they allow.

For most though, the 8 ohm 10 watt ones that RS do for 8p will do the trick and don't heat up too much. Sound cheap until you pay the £5 postage
