Default 150 section rear tyre

I've been rolling for about a week on the 150 rear tyre. It's great, changes direction really quick. Ok, from the back it looks noticably narrower, but I really don't care what it looks like. It works and very well. The tyre is a D205 Dunlop, so for winter just fine on the back. I have an old D208 on the front now. My Diablos were finished, but I had the D208 in the cupboard from a few years back, it was still OK when the rear was gone, so I kept it.

Gotta be careful with old tyres: they're only supposed to last about 5 years or so before the compound goes off. When I had Rictus' front end on my bike it was a 600 mile old tyre, but also a 3 year old one and it handled awfully!

As it gets colder I get more upright anyway, but thanks for the warning.

Yeah.
Watch those old tyres.
I had a front let go when something pulled out on me, when there
was *no way* it should have let go under that level of braking. I could also
feel the front sliding out if I gave it any sort of push around corners. Plenty of
thread on the thing, just feck all grip.

Got a set of nice new Conti road attacks, and it was night and day.

If I had the cash for new tyres I would get some, but I don't.

If I had the cash for a Penske rear shock, another decent road bike to
train over the winter on, a nice new pair of road Sidi shoes, a CO2 system
for my planted aquarium, a new pair of MTB shoes to commute on, a green
card visa so my research institution doesnt own me, a new fence for the
back garden, and a GSX-R front end... and those nice green glass tiles for
the kitchen, I would get it. But I dont.

Well. Maybe for one of those things I do.

My mate is selling his 1150 Adventure. I'd like that too. Paying a mortgage
wrecks the bank balance so it does.
