hey
i was wondering if someone could help with a technical problem, ive just changed the chain and sprocket on my bike, although now my bike will not stall when i fully let off the clutch and do not accelerate in first gear but will in all other gears, the idle speed has not changed and the bike does not seem to be revving?? Thanks in advance DEJA Vu |

Did you remove/disturb the clutch lifter? If so I'd take at look at that before suspecting anything else.

No, it's the lifter, it pushes the pushrod.

That's not too bad really. Sounds like your idle speed might just be a bit too high.
My SV almost chugs along on idle is that what you are trying to state? Sounds to me like your clutch is properly adjusted? |

yeah just like that although i havent canged the idle-speed from b4 changing the sprockets, when u normally let out the clutch all the way the bike should stall if you arent using the throttle, although it will stall in other gears just first it wont.

I wouldn't worry about it at all then matey. Sounds fine to me.
Question for you tho! Have you down geared your bike so it will accelerate faster? As in more teeth on the back or less on the front sprocket? Last edited by vardypeeps; 18-02-09 at 01:48 PM. |

no ive gone the other way for a little more speed for when i go to europe ive got to keep up with my mates on R6 and GSXR 600 and i certainly wanna be able to beat the bandit thats coming with us but i do have a sporcket set for acceleration for when i come back
the sprockets are one tooth on the front dropping two teeth on the rear sprocket Last edited by DEJA_Vu; 18-02-09 at 03:35 PM. |

Ah just thought that might have made it not stall in 1st as there would not be as much strain on the engine.
Anway its nothing to worry about as mentioned earlier |
