Default removing security tag?

hi all,

just got back from shopping and have bought myself a new coat, only problem is they have left a security tag on it. (notice the use of the word bought, not stolen!!)
to take it back to the shop i got it from would take at least an hour and a half and cost me petrol and parking, so i was just wondering if anyone new a way to get it off myself without ripping or staining the coat.
i pressume it will be an inking tag so i dont think brute force is really the way to go.

if its not got a dye bubble get pliars onto it and open it up, then remove the ball bearings that are against the pin and it'll come off.

thanks for the tips,
im not sure if it has a dye bubble but ill pressume it does and it was quite expensive so dont wanna attack it with pliers really.
its not like the ones in the videos, its a lot smaller, about the size of a 2 pence coin and shaped like a cockle shell.
there isnt a more local branch to me either but i might pop into town in the morning and see if any of the local clothes shops can remove it, if not then il have to go shopping again!
i just thought there might be a little trick with some magnets or something to pop it off, although i suppose if it was too simple they would be pointless!
just wish it had set off the alarm when i was leaving the store now!!!

The ones at Next popped off with one short bit of metal in one end, and one curved piece of metal that just released it. Didn't have ink bubble things though. If it's got holes in it it won't be a complicated mechanism. I wouldn't have a go if you're unsure though cus it won't be hard to tell you've had a go.

A little kid once came in with his mum and clearly explained to me how to get it off at home, haha... can't remember exactly though sorry.

More to the point how did you get it out of the store without setting off the alarm?
