Hi and welcome
![]() Yes you do need a certificate for the restriction! It has to be fitted by a dealer or garage! With your bike in the avartar it's a FI modle so the restricer is a plug in one so the labour charges shouldn't be to much! Then when your restriction is up you can derestrict it yourself! BILLY |

I think if you restrict it yourself, and can then get the bike to a dyno centre. You can use the results to show that the bike has been restricted too.

I don't see why you need a certificate. The insurance company takes everything else you tell them on trust until they find out you're lying. Hands up who's ever shown their driving licence to an insurance company before securing insurance.
I could of course be wrong as it was never an issue for me. the best people to ask is your insurance company of course. If they allow you to do it yourself I've got a restricted ECU I can post to you for £45, you just swap it over plugging it in next to the battery. |

As Billy said, both must be fitted by a dealer and certificate will be issued. FI international have a database of restricted bikes that they have sold kits for. Also the dealer has to buy the kit on your behalf, they don't sell directly to the consumer. |

Says me.
Suzuki sell the ECU, FI International sell the throttle stop and Airbox restriction. To be 100% legal they must be fitted by an approved person. i.e a dealer or garage. Last edited by lawson17; 14-07-07 at 01:24 PM. |
