howdy doody everyone

since my bikes been stored up for the winterive been checking out various ways to enhance perfomance when it returns to the road.as far as cosmetics go its had well over a grands worth spent on it,as for performence upgrades only a titanium tri-oval can and a k&n air filter, i had been thinking on the lines of a power commander but most of you say its not really worth it so i have sacked this off.

please could you help me to make some other decisions?

1/for med to hard riding mostly in dry.....metzeler z6s or michelin pr2s(&why)

2/for acceleration purposes.....change f or r sprocket(what to and how much top end could i expect to lose)

3/recently been hearing r6 throttle tubes mentioned(whats the main difference i should notice with 1 of these & would it benefit )

basically i should know all the answers to these questions with the amount of years ive been riding,but thats just the problem(always the rider but never
been much the mechanic)

i know most of you know what your on about,so i will await your answers with antticipation

P.S forgot to mention about snorkel removal(what difference does this make
is it worth bothering and why)

I like the Diablo Strada/Roadtec, I'd choose those over the Michelin mainly on cost, as they seem to be on average around 25% as much here. But I'm sure the PR2 is a great tyre, in fact I'd not be at all surprised to find it's better than the Roadtecs.

I just went back to standard gearing, I used to have it downgeared by a tooth on the rear, but to be honest as my bike has a clutch I didn't think it offered much benefit It doesn't make a drastic difference in either direction though, and since the SV struggles to reach the limiter in 6th (I'm being diplomatic here, since I've never seen one that could but I don't want to call people liars ) the loss of top end potential is pretty irrelevant. I just prefer to have 6th a little higher for long distances at around the legal limit.

R6 throttle tube's not a quick action as some call it, it's a short action- the progression is the same as standard, it's just that you need to move your wrist less, so it's more for comfort and ease of use than speed of throttle. I like it a lot, it means I can save my right wrist for more satisfying activities. Like snooker.

Performance wise though, for the SV, unless you're very light nothing can rival suspension work IMO.

PR2's are a very good tyre, last ages and loads of grip, they are pricy though.

I wouldn't down gear if you spend much holding a constant speed above 70, if you just play on the backroads it might be a good idea.
