Default Pocket PC's

I turn to the fountain of the ORG:
Does anyone have any experience of Pocket PC's and are you able to recommend one?
It doesn't have to do anything to flash other than the basic sync-ing with the PC for outlook and have the windows OS on it as I really don't want a Palm.
I currently sync my phone (Nokia N72) but it's a tad limiting and it's no good for taking notes in meetings etc.

Help me OB org you are my only hope, well not quite but some advice would be good from those who have used such things.

Cheers.

N810 (or the previous model N800) might work for you.

I believe that good deals can be had on the N800 and its not that much down from the N810.

But this is guess work, its no part of my area of expertise.

I've had a couple of the HP ones, the last one was the all singing wireless bluetooth windows mobile thing. TBH, they are rubbish. Slow, tedious, no real world use at all.Certainly would be no use for note taking, unless you just wanted to audio record, the interface is just hopeless.

I've had 3 O2 Xda's up to now - handy cos they're a phone too, and the last one I had (Xda Orbit) even had built in GPS. Basically you get everything you need in one device. I think they have 'push' email capability now too.

Pencil and paper's best for taking notes at meetings...
I used to use an HP for contacts, names ,addresses, dates etc till a car pushed the pannier it was in through the spokes of my bike (pedal!), after sucessfully replacing the screen I screwed up the sync by replacing all my stuff backed up on PC with the blank version on the rebuilt PDA. Deep Joy.

I have had XDA Execs, Palm Pilots, Pocket PC PDAs and currently have an N770 (predecessor to the N800). What do I use now?

Notebook and pen - Purely for ease of use/portability/doesn't crash.

I am contemplating an iPhone as that has notes on it, and I also would like an Asus EeePC Laptop... but as I already have a personal Macbook and a work Powerbook it's a bit of overkill.

A friend uses a tablet PC to take notes, which works for him.

I found the palm the fasted to take notes on, and easiest to use!!! I hated the XDAs ( I've had at least 2 different ones) and Pocket PCs but that is just a personal preference
