Default Cleaning S/Steel exhaust

What's the best thing to use on a stainless steel exhaust to clean the end as it's gone all dark where the gases come out..

Someone told me wire wool but this will scratch won't it?

Try using autosol on a rag first, mixed with some elbow grease

If it dosnt shift, then yea, a bit of wire wool to remove the stubborn stuff, then back to a rag and autosol to remove the scratches a bit more. I have also found that finishing with a bit of T-cut adds to the final shine

Just cleaned the front down pipe on mine the other day using a really fine wire wool and autosol polish. Not sure if it'd be the right thing for the more polished end can tho?

Perhaps try an area out of sight first to test?

Normal polishing cloth should be enough with a decent polish IMO.

I did mine the weekend and used Comma Alloy Cleaner whilst washing the bike, whihc seemed to loosen it a bit and then autosol and a rag did the rest.

AUTOSOL IS NOW AVAILABLE AT HALFORDS!

For this area I would use a bit of kitchen role with degreaser sprayed onto it to smear any oily substance away, polish as usual if you want to afterwards.

if you do use wire wool, i would suggest the finest you can get which is 0000 grade.
(thats 4 zeros), this is very fine & will reduce the scratching
