Default Veggi food cooking help!

Im going to have to cater for a veggi for a couple of days, what is the difference in cooking fake chicken over real chicken and other replacement meats?

I can cook fine, but Im not going to cook food that doesnt have large amounts of meat in it! lol If she dosent like that, I have a lettus and some spring ongions she can eat.

Thanks

When you say fake chicken what exactly do you mean? I know tofu is a popular substitute, I live with a couple of veggies and a vegan, they eat a lot of the stuff lol. Cooks just like meat from what I've seen but is nothing like it really. Theres this thing called Sosmix too which makes convincing sausage substitutes! Or lots of pasta/noodles/curry?

Being a guy you'll probably want a fairly meaty dinner, you might have to cook your friend's meals separate to yours

remember it doesn't need 'cooking'. Subsitutes just need a bit of crispening around the outside and warmed up in the middle. Sosmix is tasty Tofu can be great if you marinate it the day before, but it seems increasingly difficult to get the firm stuff.
Maybe get a falafel mix from the foreign foods section of the supermarket. It'll look like a mini box of cereal. Its easy, cheap and tasty

I think Quorn is great too.

Well, I was planning just to cook my normal meals, but cook the meat replacement in a separate pan.

I think I will go shopping with her, and she can get the bits she likes to eat as I wouldnt know where to start.

OR...

I could just cook her chicken and tell her its tofu or somthing like that.... lol

In that case, Quorn is a good bet, like Sarah mentioned. I had a Quorn lasagne once (I'm not a veggie though) - good stuff, almost hard to tell the difference!

Baked beans on toast too, can't go wrong with that one! (unless of course she hates baked beans...you probably want to be a leeeetle bit more sophisticated than that...)

Whatever the recipe, I GUARANTEE that it will start 'chop and fry an onion'

I got so bored with that. And one day I smelled a bacon sandwich
